As we all know, calcium zinc stabilizer is the mainstream environmental protection heat stabilizer in the world, it can meet the requirements of the latest environmental standards of various countries, such as ROHS, REACH, TSCA etc., Therefore, it is widely used in the production applications of environmentally friendly PVC products.
What is the ideal calcium zinc stabilizer? We believe it needs to have a large capacity to neutralize HCl but not to displace zinc ions, and to increase the initial effective concentration of the main stabilizer and to be able to not decay in the long term. It is mainly reflected in several main aspects such as the ability to inhibit zinc burning, precipitation control ability, initial color ability, and compatibility. Therefore, we usually consider adding different auxiliary stabilizers to the formulation of calcium zinc stabilizers to balance the interaction between the components to achieve the best performance.
At present, the auxiliary stabilizers commonly used in calcium zinc stabilizer formulations are: β-diketones, mono-pentaerythritol, di-pentaerythritol, polyol esters, hydrotalcite, trihydroxyethyl isocyanurate and so on. These auxiliary stabilizers have distinctive features and advantages, but there are also certain limitations. For example.
1. β-diketone: It is a substance with slight toxicity, and it will cause the cooling water to redden during the production of PVC products, which will cause certain pollution emissions.
2. mono-Pentaerythritol: If the formulation contains mono-Pentaerythritol, then precipitation problems are inevitable, which means that there is instability in the quality of PVC products. In addition, the problem of precipitation will seriously affect the production efficiency
3. Dipentaerythritol: 1, Dipentaerythritol is a by-product of the production process of monopentaerythritol, and Dipentaerythritol will still contain monopentaerythritol and tripentaerythritol, there is also the risk of precipitation
4. trihydroxyethyl isocyanurate: The production of trihydroxyethyl isocyanurate can cause some contamination. And there is also a risk of precipitation when too much is used in the formulation.
5. Hydrotalcite: It has the effect of neutralizing HCI, however, they will also replace the zinc ions in the main stabilizer
In summary, auxiliary stabilizers play an extremely important role in the formulation of calcium zinc stabilizers, which can determine the performance, quality, cost, and environmental grade of calcium zinc stabilizers. Therefore, based on this premise, we developed the zinc burning inhibitor, which is a green, non-toxic and non-hazardous auxiliary stabilizer for PVC. It not only has the significant advantages of superb zinc burn inhibition, excellent initial coloring, good compatibility, and low cost of use. More importantly, it can really solve the precipitation problem in the formulation due to the use of mono-pentaerythritol. In addition, it does not produce any harmful gas, sewage discharge, etc. in the process of producing it, so it will not cause any harm to the natural environment and human body.
